[ [link removed] ]SIGN: NO national abortion ban!

Dear MoveOn member,

Make no mistake about it: The GOP is ramping up their attacks on abortion
rights and bodily autonomy—and they have their eye on a national abortion
ban. Donald Trump has said he'd support one as president.^1 Republican
candidates are also backing one—and you can be sure that if they win the
Senate, they'll do away with the filibuster and send a national abortion
ban straight to Trump's desk.^2

Despite voter backlash, rightwing crusaders have only amped up their
attacks on how we make choices for our own health care, family planning,
and our bodies. Just yesterday, the Supreme Court heard high-stakes oral
arguments regarding access to mifepristone—the abortion pill—and are
expected to release their decision in the coming months.^3 Meanwhile,
networks of anti-abortion zealots continue to push lawsuits further
curtailing our rights and access to health care. And just last month, an
Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos were "children," throwing
the future of in vitro fertilization into uncertainty—a position held by
leading Republicans in Congress.^4

The future of abortion is not just on the line—bodily autonomy, from birth
control pills to gender-affirming care, is at stake.  It is clear that
overturning Roe was not the end of the journey but was a step that
emboldened Republicans to push even further.

[ [link removed] ]We can't continue to watch as abortion access is stripped away and
pushed further out of reach. Sign the petition to demand that Congress do
everything in their power to STOP a national abortion ban and enshrine the
right to bodily autonomy into law before it's too late.

From Roe to mifepristone, abortion rights are under attack. Tell every
member of and candidate for Congress: Say no to a national abortion ban
and commit to restoring and expanding our rights to essential health care.

An overwhelming number of voters—80%—oppose a national abortion ban,
including a majority of Republicans and Independents.^5 The majority of
Americans want to see safe, legal, accessible abortion care—and they are
voting that way in every state where abortion is on the ballot. Yet
Republican candidates are making a dangerous deal—promising extreme,
dangerous, authoritarian policies to criminalize abortion in return for
the loyalty of the most extreme voters in the Republican base.

[ [link removed] ]We need to be loud, clear, and united in our opposition to a national
abortion ban. Join more than 57,200 MoveOn members and sign the petition
to make it clear that the majority of Americans DO NOT support a national
abortion ban.

We all deserve to have agency over our bodies and to decide if and when to
have children. And our communities are stronger and more vibrant when we
are all able to define, build, and nurture our families on our own terms.
We refuse to sit by and idly allow the GOP to undo what progress we've
gained or sabotage the future we deserve.

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? The MAGA movement's book bans have forced
teachers and librarians across the country to remove books from their
shelves and censor what young people can learn. MoveOn is fighting back,
including by filling a "Banned Bookmobile" with books that the far right
has banned and driving it to key cities and towns to raise the visibility
of book bans, hand out banned books for free, and bring people together to
stop censorship. To keep up the fight against book bans and the MAGA
politicians who support them, we need your help.

Will you start a monthly gift to power and sustain MoveOn's critical work?

[ [link removed] ]Yes, I'll chip in $5 a month.

[ [link removed] ]No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
