The latest updates from Gaza >>
John—

The International Rescue Committee and its partners have overcome so many obstacles to help families in Gaza. And thanks to supporters like you, we are providing emergency supplies, medical care to people who are sick, malnourished and injured, and other critical support.

I wanted to take a moment to share with you some resources and recent articles, to help show the impact we are making first-hand:

First, David Milliband, president and CEO of the IRC, recently helped sound the alarm about the looming famine in Gaza with Christiane Amanpour.

A screencap of an interview with David Miliband

As David makes clear, we have the resources, partners and staff to help save children's lives in Gaza. Thanks to supporters like you, we've delivered food and emergency supplies, activated medical teams, and partnered with local organizations to support children and families recovering from trauma.

But every aid shipment that is blocked, every truck that is turned back, every road that is obstructed or destroyed by bombing—all of these actions cut people off from the humanitarian support that could save their lives.

Children are starving due to an entirely man-made crisis—and more will die without an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted access to emergency nutrition and humanitarian relief. Join the call for a ceasefire now.

These recent articles can help you stay informed about the unfolding crisis in Gaza and help show how your support of the IRC's emergency response is making a difference:
  • Ciarán Donnelly, IRC senior vice president for Crisis, Response, Recovery and Development, joined PBS Newshour to shine a light on the obstacles facing humanitarian aid.
  • Arvind Das, the Gaza team lead for the IRC, spoke about our partnerships with local organizations providing mental health support for children in Gaza. This is just one way that IRC supporters like you are helping make a difference for children and families in Gaza.
  • Bob Kitchen, the IRC vice president of emergencies and humanitarian action joined NewsNation to warn about the imminent famine inside Gaza.
We must continue to do all that we can to save lives. That means continuing to draw public attention to the unprecedented emergency in Gaza, demanding an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid, and devoting resources to help children and families survive.

Thank you for your attention, your compassion and your steadfast support for those in crisis.
