Fellow Advocate,
I’m coming to you live from the Capitol again, with some fantastic news! The PA House just passed major legislation[1] banning ghost guns as we know them. Thanks to your heroic efforts, House Bill 777 passed its final vote today by a margin of 104-97 with bipartisan support.
This bill requires manufacturers to serialize ghost gun kits, and purchasers to pass a background check. In short, it could end ghost guns as we know them, helping law enforcement to solve gun crimes, and drastically reducing the gun violence plaguing communities across our Commonwealth.
Our team came together in a big way to achieve this victory, and I couldn’t be prouder. You all made the calls, sent the emails, and forced our Representatives to take action. As the bill now moves to the Senate, we need to redouble our efforts, and take an even bigger stand for gun violence prevention.
Our Advocacy Day on May 7 is going to be a huge and impactful gathering of gun violence prevention advocates like you pouring onto the steps of the Capitol, and demanding our legislators listen to us. Not only will we rally on the Capitol steps, but advocates will have the opportunity to lobby their legislators directly and in-person. Our HUGE victory today should propel us to demonstrate our collective power, and win even bigger fights.
We need to keep this momentum going, and build on today’s incredible victory. I’m so fired up for Advocacy Day, but I want to make sure I see you there. Click here or on the button below to register and be counted as part of our growing movement on May 7.
