Federal Grant Opportunities: March 27, 2024 My office is sharing the following information on federal grant opportunities available to you. FY2025 Community Project Funding ApplicationEarlier this month, I announced that my office is accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2025 Community Project Funding (CPF) requests.Under the FY 2025 application process, each member of Congress is limited in the number of projects for which they can request funding. Community Project Funding is only available to state and local governments and nonprofit organizations. For-profit entities are not eligible to receive funding.Please note that as full guidance for FY2025 CPF applicants has not yet been released, funding accounts and eligibility criteria are subject to change. While significant changes to last year’s guidelines are not expected, my office will follow up with applicants regarding any changes to FY2025 guidance as soon as it is released.Prospective applicants can review office guidance for FY2024 HERE to determine whether they are eligible to apply for and receive Community Project Funding. Featured Funding OpportunitiesU.S. DOT Multimodal Project Discretionary Grant Program (MPDG)On March 25, 2024, the Department of Transportation published a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) announcing $5.1 Billion in MPDG funding. Applications are due by May 6, 2024, on Grants.gov.Available funding includes:$1.7 billion for the National Infrastructure Project Assistance (Mega) program: The Mega program invests in large, complex projects that are difficult to fund by other means and are likely to generate national or regional economic, mobility, or safety benefits. Eligible projects include highway, bridge, freight, port, passenger rail, and public transportation projects of national or regional significance. $2.7 billion for the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) program: The INFRA program awards competitive grants to multimodal freight and highway projects of national or regional significance to improve the safety, accessibility, efficiency, and reliability of the movement of freight and people in and across rural and urban areas. $780 million for the Rural Surface Transportation Grant (Rural) program: Eligible projects for Rural grants include highway, bridge, and tunnel projects that help improve freight, safety, and provide or increase access to agricultural, commercial, energy, or transportation facilities that support the economy of a rural area. 101 Webinar for Humanities and Arts ProjectsYesterday, I was joined by representatives from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Grants 101 Webinar. Small Business ResourcesFunding Opportunities to Support Small Businesses in the Childcare SectorIn the coming months, SBA will make available new funding opportunities to support small businesses in the childcare sector through SBA’s Women Business Center (WBC) program. WBCs are a part of a national network of entrepreneurship centers designed to assist women in starting and growing small businesses. The additional funds will support the expansion of childcare delivery systems, increase childcare slots, and improve childcare access, affordability, and quality.New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)The NYSBDC provides small business owners and entrepreneurs in New York with the highest quality, confidential business counseling, training, and business research at no cost.The Albany Small Business Development Center serves small businesses in the Capital Region. Since its start in 1984, the expert advisors of the Albany SBDC have worked directly with 26,807 businesses, helping them to invest $495,947,350 in the area's economy, and create or save 14,766 jobs.You can make and appoint for counseling by calling 518-442-7232 or filling out their online form.Federal Funding Announcements This summary includes new or updated opportunities in the following areas.
