Deadline approaching!

Friend — We only have a few weeks left to speak out to protect our forests from logging and mining. The Forest Service is proposing a rule that would put acres of protected forests at risk — without public input or environmental review. The Trump administration is rushing to give this handout to logging and mining companies — we cannot let him get away with this.

Speak out now against Trump's attempt to destroy our National Forests »

This pro-polluter plan would risk the destruction of our forests, exacerbate climate change, and harm wildlife all while blocking the impacted communities' voices. We have a small window to go on the record to oppose this dangerous rule — but we're still 3,876 signatures short of our goal.

Will you speak out now to protect our National Forests for generations to come?

Thank you so much for joining the fight to protect our National Forests.

STOP TRUMP FROM DESTROYING OUR FORESTS:

The US Forest Service just proposed two major changes that will make it easier for the logging industry to destroy our forests: eliminating community input on most Forest Service projects AND decreasing environmental review before construction projects. We can't let them silence community voices and stop us from standing up for our forests.

FIGHT BACK NOW

Loggers could soon destroy large portions of our National Forests — and the US Forest Service is trying to block input from affected communities. Our forests are at stake and we must act — will you sign your name to help us fight back?

Friend — The Forest Service just announced plans to decrease public oversight and environmental review of major projects in National Forests. This would mean that forests covering the size of 3,100 football fields could be logged without the input of the people. Iconic forests like Sierra National Forest AND forests near your hometown could be at risk of increased logging and development.

We have to stop them. The Forest Service is accepting public comments and we need LCV supporters like you to speak up. Our goal is 10,000 comments to the Forest Service. Help show the Trump administration that you won't let them destroy our forests.

Comment now and tell the Trump administration that we must protect forests for all people »

The US Forest Service manages 193 million acres of National Forests — an area approximately the size of Texas. When there is a proposed logging or development project within a National Forest, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) ensures that there is an environmental review process and public comment period so that community members can have say in these projects — and help stop damaging development.

But now, the Trump administration wants to exempt projects of up to 4,200 acres from this review and silence the voices of all of us, including the communities that live near and use these spaces. The Forest Service's proposed policy changes would make it easier for loggers and miners to destroy large portions of our natural heritage. What's more, the destruction of these forests would exacerbate the climate crisis, disrupt critical wildlife habitats, and destroy public recreation areas.

We cannot let the Trump administration advance their dangerous agenda to silence our voices in decisions that will impact the spaces we explore, play, and build community. We only have a few weeks left to speak out — by submitting a public comment, you can stop Trump's attempt to destroy our forests. Friend, we need your help to show the Trump administration that all of our voices deserve to be heard.
