There's a reason why we put such an early and substantial investment into our volunteer program.
We've got to do something differently, something special, something that brings people together.
I know there are folks - including some who receive this email - standing on the sidelines, thinking there's no chance in this election.
How is a Democrat going to win in Missouri? How is Elad going to win?
That's what they said about Walking Joe Teasdale when the statewide offices were all Republican. It's what they said about Jerry Litton when he started out in last place in the primary for Senate. It's what they said about Claire McCaskill, Harriet Woods, Mike Revis, Stephanie Hein, even Harry Truman.
Look where we are. Look at the energy in every part of the state.
Look at labor standing up. Look at the hundreds of thousands of people signing initiative petitions. Look at the billboards on the highway calling for an end to puppy mills. Missourians want something different. We want a government that actually represents us.
We don't want an Attorney General who regularly lies to us, who sues schools just to get on TV, who spends our money filing briefs based on unsupported legal positions in other states or helping illegal gambling machine companies or arguing to defund police departments working with federal agencies to stop violent crime because that's what his big donors demand.
We need an attorney who will sue scammers, make sure our kids and grandkids can drink the water in our state, root out corruption in our government, launch a statewide effort to make our neighborhoods safer and reduce violent crime, protect workers on the job, and always represent us.
We can have a real Attorney General again. This campaign is how.
The biggest barrier our campaign faces isn't what the other side is doing. It's what our side is not doing. We have to stand up and invest in the organizing work we need to hold our government accountable.
I'm very proud of the work our team is doing and especially of how much input our volunteers have in this campaign. I'd like to have yours too. If you haven't already, please consider donating, volunteering, and supporting this campaign, especially with our quarterly fundraising deadline almost here. Let's get this done.
