Stunting is a contributing risk factor to child mortality, according to the World Health Organization. Children with this condition fail to reach their physical and cognitive potential. To address this critical issue, mothers like Josephine serve as volunteer cooks at Bungkol Elementary School, preparing nutritious meals for all 282 students. The volunteers add eggplant, malunggay, cassava, snow cabbage, mustard greens and more from the onsite school garden to supply the children with even more nutrients.
