The social media censorship case recently argued before the U.S. Supreme Court highlights the worrisome perspective of many liberal justices today who seem to have forgotten the purpose of the First Amendment's protection of free speech. As Margot Cleveland ([link removed]) explains, not only did Justice Kentanji Brown Jackson worry out loud that the First Amendment might "hamstring" the government (precisely the point), but she also showcased the opinion that the government has every right to decide which speech is threatening and must be silenced. This is a critical crossroads for all of our protected freedoms. Reprinted with permission. Pat Daugherty, Ed.D.
