Dear John
There is seriously concerning news from the
Senate this evening. The Labor government has fast-tracked a Digital
ID Act that threatens our privacy
and freedom.
Labor's Digital ID system will combine personal information
like driver's licenses, Medicare, and more into a single digital
profile, controlled by the Labor government. It's a concerning shift
towards more intrusive surveillance and control, rushed through the
Senate without adequate debate or transparency.
Senators Pauline Hanson and Malcolm Roberts did everything
they could to oppose this bill's fast-tracking and eventual
passing.
The fight now moves to overturning the Act, and we need
your help.
A Digital ID law was originally the idea of the Liberals.
Ultimately, the Liberals are no better than Labor when it comes to
controlling people's lives. We can't trust the Liberals to repeal this
law if they win power.
We know this Act of parliament, rushed through tonight, is
something that concerns you. That’s why we’re reaching out.
Why It Matters:
- Privacy at Risk: Centralising sensitive
data poses significant risks, from cybersecurity threats to
unwarranted Labor and Liberal governments surveillance.
- Rushed Process, Limited Voice: The
government's haste denies us a proper say in matters that directly
affect our rights and freedoms.
Our Call to Action: We urgently need your
help to repeal this Act. By signing our petition and donating to our
campaign, you're standing up for the principle that our personal
information should remain in our control, not the
government's.
Can you please forward the petition to as many people as
possible? This is one of our biggest fights ever.
Make Your Voice Heard:
- Sign the Petition: Join us in demanding a
halt to this bill, ensuring it receives the scrutiny and debate it
warrants.
- Donate to Our Campaign: Your support
enables us to fight harder and reach further, protecting our shared
values.
This is about more than just a bill; it's about safeguarding
our liberties against overreach. Stand with us to preserve our privacy
and autonomy.
Best regards,
Craig Kelly
