**I’m *particularly* proud of winning Toughest Online Video Advertisement for our anti-gun violence ad ["Thoughts and Prayers."]([link removed]

Because if you’ve ever met a mother who thinks her kids or family is being threatened, you’ll know: **We're not backing down.**

When Greg Abbott threatened to pull the plug on our public schools; when he overlooked Ken Paxton's obvious corruption; when he demonized our LGBTQIA+ children; when he prioritized the gun lobby at the expense of our safety — we didn’t go away.

**We fought back.**

And it’s not just the Reed Awards that prove we’re landing our punches. It’s also...

- the **12 million** people who saw our last ad;
- the **72,000 voters** who received a postcard from one of our volunteers;
- the **50 million** Americans who've driven by a Mothers Against Greg Abbott billboard;
- and, the **1.2 million Texans** we've helped mobilize to the polls last election cycle;

**We know how to get our message to voters**. And now, Mothers For Democracy has our sights set firmly on extremists in Congress, like Ted Cruz.

The recent University of Texas at Tyler Center for Opinion Research poll shows just how close the Texas Senate race is — Ted Cruz and the Democratic nominee, Colin Allred, are locked in a dead heat at **41-41**.

**Especially if we start mobilizing right now, Texas moms — and others like us — will be enough to push Ted Cruz out of office.**
