From the Desk of the President of the NDRC

Hey — I started my career in politics working on two year cycles… on, off, on, off, on… rinse and repeat. My top priority was always the next Election Day.

That all changed when I came on board at the National Democratic Redistricting Committee. Here, we’re thinking long term — not just about this November or next, but about everything we can do to build a fairer democracy for years to come.

We’ve built a 10 Year Plan to win the fight for fair maps — we can protect our progress and roll back the worst partisan gerrymanders today while building the organization we need to be ready for the mission-critical redistricting fights ahead.

The NDRC has to walk, chew gum, and defend our democracy — but we can’t do any of it without you. Chip in today to help build a powerful movement for fair maps →

Our roadmap to winning the fight for fair maps is going to be executed in four phases:

BUILD (happening right now!): 1) Develop new mapping infrastructure, 2) Engage in targeted electoral campaigns, 3) Push reform efforts. GROW (2025-2026): 1) Grow national and state networks, 2) Elect Democracy Defenders in key states, 3) Champion redistricting reform. EXECUTE (2027-2030): 1) Target top electoral priorities, 2) Educate and mobilize grassroots network, 3) Fight for fair and accurate 2030 Census. WIN (2031-2032): 1) Secure fair maps, 2) Support state partners. HELP THE NDRC WIN

The NDRC was made for this. We’re the only organization that has a comprehensive plan to finally secure a long-term victory for fair maps. Since our founding in 2017, the NDRC and our affiliates have achieved the fairest maps in 40 years, according to The New York Times. And we’re nowhere near done.

That’s the plan in broad strokes, but the truth is none of this work is in the distant future. We’re working on making maps fairer as I write this, and what we build today will determine how successful we can be in each stage of this plan.

We also have our work cut out for us — the other side is constantly putting up roadblocks to representative democracy. Our success or failure depends on the support of this grassroots team. Can I count on you to pitch in $30 today?
