The 118th Congress began on January 3, 2023, and since that date, the Republican leadership has failed on every count, and the consequences of their failure have fallen on the American people.

Our congress has been the most unproductive in modern history. 

Rather than spending time crafting and passing legislation that will lower costs for and protect our hard-working families, Republicans have spent the last year fighting with each other on their own party’s priorities — and they still don’t have a resolution. 

It’s no surprise that over 20 House Republicans have announced they’re leaving Congress – this kind of non-legislating is not why we come to DC.

Hard-working families across the country are relying on us to do our jobs, and Republican leadership has made it nearly impossible to get anything done. 

This fall, I want to get back to the real work of Congress - passing legislation that will lower costs for working families, strengthen protections for workers, bring common-sense gun reform to the next level, and protect a woman’s right to control her own body. 

To do that, we need a Democratic majority back in the House.

When Democrats held the same slim majority, it wasn’t like this. When we win in the fall, the size of our majority won’t matter; we will get the job done.
