I wanted to reach out to you in light of today’s Supreme Court case.
John,
I wanted to reach out to you in light of today’s Supreme Court case.
This is the first abortion-related hearing since the reversal of Roe v. Wade – and it’s about the future of access to Mifepristone, an FDA-approved drug that has been safely used for over two decades through the first ten weeks of pregnancy.
As a healthcare professional, I want to be very clear: This case is nothing less than a continuation of the far-right’s assault on the hard-fought wins that women have spent decades campaigning for.
Republicans are attacking reproductive freedom from every angle, and we must keep fighting for a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body. People should have more access to safe abortion care – not less, and cases like this do nothing but restrict women’s rights and put lives at risk.
It looks like we won’t hear a decision from the Court until July, but we need to stay vigilant about this and all other threats to our bodily autonomy. Regardless of the outcome, please know that Delaware has already codified abortion access and that as your Governor, I promise to keep up the fight in this post-Roe world.
