Will is a former federal prosecutor who took on counterterrorism cases in California, including helping prosecute insurrectionists who attacked the Capitol on January 6th. From a family of Republicans AND Democrats, compromise and bipartisanship begins for him at the kitchen table. In 2022, Will’s campaign to win the 41st became one of the closest races in the entire country and he lost by only a few percentage points and this seat has only gotten more competitive.

Lanon enlisted in the Iowa National Guard at just 17, inspired by his father’s support for the United States during the Vietnam War and the opportunities and welcome his family received in Iowa after immigrating from Laos. After fighting in Afghanistan after 9/11, he returned to Iowa and devoted his career to working for veterans and USDA – so we’re proud to endorse this son of Iowa to flip one of the closest House races in the country.
