Today, the conservative Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade is hearing a case that could cut off access to mifepristone — a safe, effective, and FDA-approved abortion medication. Medications like mifepristone make up 63% of abortions nationwide, which is why Republicans want to make it extremely difficult to access everywhere. That includes states like New Mexico where abortion is legal. I’m fighting in the Senate to pass a resolution to defend access to medication abortion across the country and protect reproductive rights from the GOP’s escalating attacks. But Mitch McConnell and his anti-abortion allies are backing my hedge fund executive Republican opponent, who has yet to go public with her stance on abortion rights. New Mexico deserves leaders who proudly fight to uphold reproductive rights. I am ready to continue the fight, but I’m counting on your support to stay in the Senate and defend our Democratic Majority from anti-choice Republicans.
