Monthly meeting: the anti-renewables backlash
Tuesday, April 9th at 7:30 pm
NY’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act and the federal IRA are designed to promote a revolution in renewables. No surprise; the fossil fuel industry is fighting back. How can we make sure their disinformation and denial don’t thwart the advance of wind and solar power? Adrienne Esposito of Citizens Campaign for the Environment and New Yorkers for Clean Power’s Barbara Luka will shed light on the shady business of opposing grid-scale solar and offshore wind in New York. Register online to join the Zoom meeting.
Rally at the Governor's Office to Pass the NY HEAT Act!
Today, March 26th at 12:00 pm
Join us at 12pm outside Governor Hochul's office at 633 Third Ave in Manhattan for a rally to pass the NY HEAT Act. National Grid wants to charge us more money for more fossil fuels that would lock us into a future of increased climate disasters and increased financial debt. We can’t afford National Grid's rate hike, and corporate utilities across the entire state are abusing New Yorkers with high rates for more toxic fossil fuels. We can’t afford to keep playing whack-a-mole every time there’s a new hike. NY HEAT is the lasting change we need so RSVP online to rally with us today!
Let the NY State Assembly hear your righteous anger!
Wednesday, March 27th and Thursday, March 28th
While the NY State Senate has included the NY HEAT ACT and the Climate Superfund Act in their budget allocation, the Assembly has failed to lead on climate. The budget closes on April 1 and the Assembly Members need to hear from every New Yorker demanding a future we can live in. If everyone can send three emails or make three calls asking friends to take action, we can get the volume we need! Join these two important call relays on Wednesday 3/27 and Thursday 3/28 to make your voice heard.
