Friend - I’m between meetings in Washington, and I’m sure you’ve got a busy day as well. So I’ll keep this short.

Look, fundraising is the worst part of this job. I absolutely hate asking for money, but until my colleagues join me to pass public financing, it’s a necessary evil to compete with the big money and corporate interests that dominate our politics.

But I still try to do things the right way. No PAC or corporate money, and I limit my time on the phone or at fundraising events to only what’s absolutely necessary.

Instead, I rely mostly on people like you to help me build this grassroots campaign because that’s the best way I know to build a movement that can demand change. So I’m sorry to ask, but especially with an FEC deadline in 5 days, today is one of those days where I need your support:
