Friend,

“Whatever you’re doing, you’re in the game and playing an MVP role.”

Governor Holcomb gave an update on Indiana’s fight against COVID-19 and
reminded us that all Hoosiers are playing a critical role in slowing the
spread, flattening the curve and keeping ourselves, and each other, safe and
healthy.

It really spans the gamut:

* From the Central Indiana Sewing Club that’s making masks for medical
personnel—and has seen its membership soar from 700 to over 4,000 in the last
few days…to the businesses and individuals in southwest Indiana that have
already contributed $2.2 million toa new COVID-19 crisis fund, created to aid
Hoosiers who are temporarily out of work.
* From American Ultraviolet in Lebanon, making UV sanitation equipment…to the
long-term care facilities rapidly developing COVID-19 only units.

We’re seeing Indiana come together, adapt, and evolve like never before to
mitigate the impact of this pandemic. As the governor said,“Nothing is out of
our grasp when we're well coordinated, well conducted and working toward that
common goal."

Additionally, the governor gave us an update on the call for additional
medical personnel to volunteer to combat COVID-19. Yesterday, Gov. Holcomb
signed an executive order allowing retired medical professionals and some
medical and nursing students to join in the fight. Yesterday afternoon, 5,300
Hoosiers volunteered.Today that number is well over 11,000—not including
medical and nursing students. These medical professionals will backfill areas
where personnel is stretched thin as the COVID-19 surge sets in.

The governor also signed additional executive orders today, further shielding
Indiana from the expected coronavirus surge. The executive orders:

* Extend the carry-out only status of Indiana bars and restaurants through
April 6, 2020.
* Waive statutes to allow e-notary rules to take effect.

Again, as always, the best thing you can do to help us get through this faster
and safer is stay home. If you won’t do it for yourself, do it for your loved
ones. For your neighbors. For your parents and grandparents. For all those
people in your life who may be at risk. Staying home will save lives.

Sincerely,

-Your Holcomb Crew
