WorkWorkMore than 100 kidnapped Nigerian students arrive back in Kaduna The White House said on Monday it was very disappointed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had canceled a high-level Israeli delegation's planned visit to Washington after the U.S. abstained from a U.N. vote demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. WorkYou can't play on both sides of the Great Firewall The U.S. is once again on the cusp of banning TikTok. After last week’s House vote, TikTok is just a Senate vote away from being barred from operating in the U.S. — pending a sale, of course. Passing the Senate is no easy feat: The RESTRICT Act was introduced in the Senate just last year and never made it through the chamber. But it’s still a real threat, and the biggest one ByteDance has faced from the U.S. government since Trump was in charge. WorkUber drivers are melting amid Nigeria's historic heat wave and record fuel prices Each time a new booking pops up on his Uber app, Johnson Idahosa promptly switches on the air conditioner in his car. To get a high rating, he needs to ensure his passengers feel comfortable — at a time when Lagos is experiencing an unprecedented heat wave. Temperatures across the country have reached 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). “No one will enter your car if your AC is not working,” Idahosa, who requested to be identified by a pseudonym for fear of retribution from Uber, told Rest of World. “You won’t get good ratings from customers.” WorkFisker trading suspended by NYSE | TechCrunch The exchange said Monday that Fisker’s stock is “no longer suitable for listing” because of “abnormally low” price levels. The decision comes a month after Fisker was warned by the NYSE that its stock price had spent 30 days trading below $1, putting it out of compliance with the exchange’s rules. Bankruptcy attorney Andrew Dietderich, who works with FTX\'s new leadership team, said, \"There is still a great amount of work and risk\" ahead in getting all the money back to clients, but that the team has a \"strategy to achieve it.\" WorkWorkChick-fil-A Modifies Its ‘No Antibiotic’ Chicken Policy In the last decade or so, the United States has cracked down on the use of antibiotics in meat, though avoided banning them entirely. Laws currently require farmers to wait until antibiotics are out of animals’ systems before slaughtering them. WorkA Higher Bid, and National Security Concerns, for an Ammunition Maker In its letter, MNC amplified concerns about national security. The CSG deal has been under review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, the federal interagency panel that reviews certain investments by overseas buyers in U.S. companies. (As an American firm, MNC isn’t subject to such a review.) WorkSurgeons Transplant Pig Kidney Into a Patient, a Medical Milestone Over 550,000 Americans have kidney failure and require dialysis, a procedure that filters toxins from the blood. Over 100,000 are on a waiting list to receive a transplanted kidney from a living or dead human donor. End-stage kidney disease is three times more common among Black Americans than among white people. WorkWorkWorkWorkTruth Social owner Trump Media will begin trading under DJT ticker Tuesday \"As a public company, we will passionately pursue our vision to build a movement to reclaim the Internet from Big Tech censors,\" Nunes said in a statement. \"We will continue to fulfill our commitment to Americans to serve as a safe harbor for free expression and to stand up to the ever-growing army of speech suppressors.\" WorkWorkWorkJapanese Americans draw on heritage and history to support Palestine With their cameras on and microphones muted, about a dozen members of the Japanese diaspora collective Nikkei 4 Palestine gather on Zoom every Thursday afternoon. One member plays Palestinian resistance music in the background as they call or email elected officials to demand a ceasefire in Israel’s war on Gaza. WorkUN rights expert report to call for Israel arms embargo over 'acts of genocide' Albanese's report said Israel had sought to conceal its "eliminationist conduct of hostilities" by clothing it in the language of international humanitarian law, and designating Gazans as a whole as "terrorist" or "terrorist-supporting". The use of such language, the report said, transformed "everything and everyone into either a target or collateral damage, hence killable or destroyable". WorkWorkWorkRich Americans Are Flocking to These States Don\'t forget about health care changes. Jeremy Finger, the CEO and founder of Riverbend Wealth Management in South Carolina, recommends checking with your health insurance company to make sure you retain benefits in your new location. “Both private health insurance for younger retirees and Medicare Advantage plans have specific service areas,” said Finger, a certified financial planner. “Retirees moving out of the service area will need to find a new plan, which could mean more expensive premiums and increased out-of-pocket costs.” WorkWorkTrump team takes sparring with Biden into vulgar territory. At recent rallies, Mr. Trump has used similar profanity to criticize Mr. Biden and a number of Democrats. Earlier this month in Georgia, Mr. Trump told supporters that everything Mr. Biden touched turned into bull droppings, using an expletive that he acknowledged some might consider beyond the pale. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, Republican of Georgia, who has repeatedly said she would call a snap vote to unseat the speaker if he allowed a vote for Ukraine aid before imposing restrictive immigration measures, filed a resolution on Friday calling for his removal, saying she wanted to send him “a warning.” WorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWorkWork TradeBriefs Publications are read by over 10,00,000 Industry Executives About Us | Advertise Privacy Policy | Unsubscribe (one-click) You are receiving this mail because of your subscription with TradeBriefs.
