Working people and families need us to stand up for them now more than ever.
Last week, a record 3.3 million Americans filed for unemployment insurance. Working people are bearing the brunt of this crisis, and they desperately need economic relief to get them back on their feet. Last week, we took the first step toward providing payments for working families through the CARE Act - but more needs to be done.
The Trump administration has lied to us, bungled their response to this crisis, and left working families holding the bag. This is why it’s so important that we elect progressive leaders who will fight like hell for our communities and our future.
Our workers and families need eviction and rent freezes, paid sick leave, no-strings emergency cash payments, credit rating protection, and more.
Our movement in Chicagoland and beyond is stronger than ever, but we must keep pushing to elect progressive coalition leaders to build the future we believe in.
