John,

I wanted to send a quick email just to say: Thank you.

When I decided to run for the U.S. Senate, I knew what we’d be up against. My opponent, Republican Deb Fischer, is one of the top recipients of corporate PAC and special interest money – from either side of the aisle.

I’m not rich. I don’t have billionaire friends. But being the underdog doesn’t scare me. I’ve taken on a billion-dollar corporation before and won – even if it did ultimately cost me my job.

I’m running for Senate because right now Washington looks like a country club. There’s no one legislating that represents blue collar, working-class people like me and my family. There’s no one fighting for us who seems to actually get it.

But with the help from over 10,000 grassroots donors like you, we’ve already raised more than $500,000 since I announced my run for Senate. That’s a record amount here in Nebraska for a campaign like ours.

And it’s not just our fundraising that’s going well. Two years ago, I led a strike for our healthcare, our wages, and our jobs — and organized labor across Nebraska stood with us. Now, they’re standing with me again, as the UFCW and the Nebraska AFL-CIO both recently endorsed my campaign alongside other labor unions.

We’re traveling across the state, meeting with voters everywhere we go who are fed up with Republican Deb Fischer only caring about her campaign donors and the rich and powerful. We just had full rooms again in North Platte and Columbus, where I met with Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, and nonpartisans who all agree: Washington is too partisan and too corrupt — and it’s time for a blue-collar senator who will answer to everyday Nebraskans and no one else.

As I meet with voters, the recent poll showing me 2 points ahead of Deb Fischer in this Senate race feels more and more correct. People are ready for a change in Nebraska.

I’m going to be up against millions of dollars in attacks from Mitch McConnell and Deb Fischer, their Super PACs, and all their corporate special interest friends. But I saw first-hand as a union president how powerful people working together for a common cause can be.

Knowing that you have my back means the world to me. I am forever grateful for everything you have done and will continue to do.

Thank you,

Dan Osborn
