far away from her former party as possible, correctly depicting it as a threat
to our republic plagued by modern-day authoritarian instincts. She is even
being touted as a possible running mate for Donald Trump.

A reversal that extreme is rare in 21st-century politics. What caused it? Did
Tulsi Gabbard’s ideology suddenly flip, or did the Democratic Party simply
become too crazy to bear?
