John,

Happy Maryland Day!

It all started 390 years ago today. On March 25, 1634, two small ships, the Ark and the Dove, and a small group of people landed in what is now St. Mary’s County.

Maryland Day started as a simple observance in 1903, but it’s grown into a statewide celebration that commemorates nearly four centuries of history and tradition.

Governor Hogan recorded a special message we’d like to share along with a card we’ve created to sign and share details about what YOU love most about Maryland.

SIGN THE MARYLAND DAY CARD

On this Maryland Day, we recognize Maryland as the state of middle temperament. As Governor Hogan travels around Maryland talking with people about how to bring back common decency and common sense to Washington, he continues to hear from Marylanders who are fed up with politicians who are more interested in partisan fighting instead of getting things done.

Let’s draw inspiration from the brave leaders who landed on our shores 390 years ago today. Let’s work together, find common ground, and get back to work!
