The economic divide in the U.S. is one of the biggest barriers to combating this public health crisis.

Friend,

Did you see Lindsay’s email below? After today, we’ll file a fundraising report with the Federal Election Commission, and it will become part of the public record. So our opponents will use it to try to find a weakness.

The special interest PACs and billionaires are threatened by someone like me serving in Congress—because I stand up to the corporate bullies and put people and communities first.

Will you make a donation before midnight tonight to ensure our voices are always represented in the halls of Congress?

Thank you for all that you do. I know these are scary times and I want you to know that I’m fighting for you every day.

Always serving you,

Rashida

--LINDSAY'S EMAIL--

Friend,

We are only just beginning to understand the impacts the COVID-19 pandemic wilI have on our communities and our families. But one thing is clear: The economic divide in the U.S. is one of the biggest barriers to combating this public health crisis.

But right now, billionaires, corporations, and right-wing leaders want to stick to the unjust status quo or, worse, exploit this moment to line their pockets and stoke racist fear. Our opponents, including special interest Super PACs, are looking for weaknesses in an attempt to defeat Rashida in this August’s primary. They’re threatened by a member of Congress who stands up to corporate bullies and puts the needs of her constituents first.

Donate before tonight’s midnight fundraising deadline to re-elect Rashida and fight back against the greedy corporations and the billionaire class who seek to defeat us.

Two years ago, together, we helped elect Rashida because we knew that she’d always put people first—poor people, working people, disabled people, undocumented people, seniors, and other marginalized communities.

And she has. In Michigan’s 13th congressional district—the third poorest in the country—Rashida has been fighting for and alongside low-income people for years as a local leader. Since her first day in Congress, she’s led and successfully passed bills to lift people out of poverty, including by removing credit barriers and protecting vulnerable seniors from fraudulent activity.

In addition to fighting for long-term solutions, Rashida is staying #RootedInCommunity. Since being elected, she’s prioritized meeting constituents’ everyday needs, including setting up four neighborhood service centers in her district. She ranks in the top 10 freshman lawmakers in hosting the most town hall meetings for constituents, and brought two congressional field hearings to her district.

And in the face of a pandemic that is ravaging our local community and our country, our team is shifting gears from starting a re-election campaign to raising money for local nonprofits and workers who have lost their jobs. We need your support to build out our abilities to reach constituents virtually and continue to put constituent services first.

Make your donation before midnight tonight to re-elect Rashida and ensure she’s able to keep fighting for us everyday.

Thank you for all that you do. Stay safe and stay healthy.
