Justice Democrats

John,

On Friday, the U.S. House passed a $1.2 trillion spending bill that bans UNRWA funding for an entire year as experts warn famine is imminent for more than 1 million people in Gaza while Israel continues to block aid trucks. President Biden has since signed it into law.

A vote for this bill was a pro-famine vote. Instead of reinstating U.S. funding to Palestinians’ largest source of aid, members on both sides of the aisle voted to withhold desperately needed food and water from starving children and families. They chose to make this humanitarian catastrophe worse.

Not only that, but this bill included another $3.8 BILLION for the Israeli military with zero conditions to stop them from committing human rights abuses. 185 Democrats voted to give Netanyahu a green light for genocide.

But do you know who stood on the right side of history and voted against this horrific bill? The same members who AIPAC & DMFI are targeting for defending Palestinian human rights — members like Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, Summer Lee, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib.

This is a key reminder of why our movement matters, and why right-wing dark money groups are trying to unseat our progressive champions in Congress this year: they are some of the only leaders in Washington with the moral courage to oppose our government enabling genocide and mass starvation.

Please, help us take on our far-right opponents like AIPAC and re-elect our Justice Democrats incumbents to Congress this year by pitching in $5 or more to fuel our work and keep up the fight for human rights.

These progressive leaders made it to Congress through grassroots support from people like you — now we need to build as much people-power as possible to keep them there fighting for our communities and the change we deserve.
