We’re less than a week out from our end-of-quarter deadline and I wanted to send you a quick note on our progress towards our critical goal of $500,000.
As of right now, we’re still $87,514 away from our goal, and we can’t afford to miss it.
Before I explain why this goal is so important, can you chip in anything you can right now to help us close the gap?
This isn’t just a deadline we’ve set internally. Under state law, our fundraising numbers will become publicly available to anyone who wants to look — including our opponents and the press.
Here’s the problem: Since December, Bob’s fundraising was frozen and we couldn’t raise a dime. Washington state law requires elected officials like Bob to shut down all fundraising starting December 8th until the legislative session concludes. But our opponent, anti-choice Republican Dave Reichert, is not an elected official, so this fundraising freeze did not restrict him.
While we were frozen, Reichert raised $1 million — that’s what we’re up against.
This deadline is our first opportunity to catch up, rebuild our campaign’s momentum, and build a strong campaign to defeat Reichert.
