As Tammy’s Finance Director, it’s my job to keep a close eye on our
fundraising numbers, especially as we approach our first FEC public
fundraising deadline of the year.

I’ll be honest: Our fundraising is a bit behind where it needs to be. We
took an unexpected hit to our budget when we launched our first TV ads of
the cycle. It wasn’t in our plans to go on the airwaves so early, but we
couldn’t let Eric Hovde’s $3 million worth of campaign ads go unanswered.

Here’s the real trouble: Our first public
fundraising deadline of the year is less than one week away. It’ll be the
first time our numbers go public since our megamillionaire opponent
entered the race.

More than $6 million has already been spent on ads in our race, and
Republicans won’t hesitate to spend even more if it looks like we’re
struggling to keep up.
