Unfortunately, the madness of the March is not just confined to college basketball games.

We were able to fund the federal government — 175 days into the fiscal year — only because of Democrats in the House of Representatives. And, the dysfunction of the Republican controlled House continues to delay progress on some really important issues, like supporting our ally Ukraine as they stand on the frontline of the global fight to protect democracy and rule of law.

Even worse, the Republican Study Committee, which a vast majority of the Republicans in the House belong to, released their budget calling for raises to the Social Security retirement age for future retirees, cuts Medicare, repeals key elements of the ACA, and says that life begins at conception.

We deserve better.

Every day, I am proud to meet with Rhode Islanders who reignite my belief that tomorrow will be better than today.

We can fight to build on the historic investments to combat the climate crisis, protect reproductive freedom so women can make their own health care decisions, reduce costs of prescription drugs, and expand economic opportunity from the middle out and bottom up to make the American Dream real for more people.
