Dear John,
In January As You Sow’s President and Chief Counsel, Danielle Fugere (named one of TIME’s 100 most influential climate leaders driving business climate action) answered questions in DC for the House Judiciary Committee, for nearly eight hours. As You Sow’s CEO, Andrew Behar, is headed to DC this week, as the Committee continues to “investigate” As You Sow for potential antitrust violations – for asking
companies to reduce their carbon pollution.
Our friends at Green America launched an online letter-writing campaign telling Congress to stop trying to block corporate progress on climate and stand with As You Sow.
Will you join the action?
The letter to Congress will also act as a petition that Andy will present in person next week. We’re up to 20,864 letters – the more letters and signatures, the stronger the message to Congress
that the Judiciary Committee does NOT speak for all Americans when it claims that asking a company to reduce carbon pollution infringes on the freedom of all Americans.
Take a look – we’d love to add your letter to the total.
And it matters. While the House Judiciary Committee is flinging anti-trust allegations and protecting the fossil fuel industry, climate-induced superstorms and wildfires are wiping out homes and making insurance unaffordable. Extreme heat,
floods, and droughts are reducing harvests of wheat, sugar, coffee, cacao, and cotton, leading to increased prices for all Americans.
It’s just wrong.
It’s also a testament to how effective As You Sow’s work with corporations really is.
We cannot allow the far right to derail climate progress. Will you tell Congress?
Yours for a sustainable future, |
