ACLU Supporter – Wisconsin's April 2 elections are weeks away, and two referendum questions about how elections run in Wisconsin are on the ballot. These two ballot questions would change the state Constitution and risk Wisconsin's ability to administer elections properly. These questions – which you can read more about in our blog – are intentionally vague and fail to address the problems they would create for local election administrators. Here's what they would do:
Our democracy depends on local election officials having the staff and resources to do their jobs. The same politicians who put these questions on the ballot have stripped millions in funding from the state budget to support election administration. The solution is publicly funding elections, not amending the constitution. Vote to preserve our constitution. Vote to protect our right to vote. Vote No on this April's constitutional referendum questions. Check out the ACLU's Voting Rights resources so you're ready to vote this spring and throughout 2024. Remember that you can go to the polls early, vote by mail, or vote in person on Election Day. If you have a specific voting-related question or concern, call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) and speak with a non-partisan voting expert who can assist you. See you at the polls, ACLU of Wisconsin |
