Friend,
So far, over 20 House Republicans have announced they are retiring, some at the end of the 118th Congress, some this week.
Now, this alone isn’t strange – House members retire all the time when they’re termed out of key leadership roles or to run for higher office.
But what is strange is that the House Republicans retiring aren’t saying bye-bye to Congress for those reasons. They’re waving goodbye to Capitol Hill because the Freedom Caucus extremists and their chosen House Speaker have made it not only impossible to govern, but have created so much chaos that the job isn’t worth the stress and disappointment they’re constantly facing.
"“This place just keeps going downhill, and I don’t need to spend my time here.” Republican Representative Ken Buck
It’s time for Democrats to step in.
Republicans have shown their caucus is unable to lead, so let’s fill these seats with Representatives who understand the needs of our working families, who will fight to protect Social Security, expand and lower the cost of Medicare coverage, and more. [[link removed]]
