Dear John,
“The people facing charges are the ones who dare to stand up against the mining company; this is the only reason why the charges have been brought. The mining companies are trying to silence everyone like me. But they cannot silence us because the fight is ongoing.” Irina, feminist activist

Around the world, humanitarian, political, and climate crises are intensifying with alarming speed, while hard-won democratic, human rights, and gender justice protections are under ever-greater attacks. As feminist activists and their movements mobilize solutions to these challenges, they are being targeted with increased – and increasingly intense – forms of backlash, or “reprisals.”

From experiences of digital surveillance and smear campaigns, to violence that targets the well-being of activists’ organizations, loved ones, and communities, their stories are a cautionary tale for us all.

Today, we’re thrilled to launch our new campaign showcasing the stories of feminist activists from the Urgent Action Fund network who are telling their stories about the risks and threats they face as a result of their work.

Beyond these stories, the site and our new campaign, “Feminist Activism Without Fear: Facing Risks with Collective Power & Care,” ([link removed]) provides information about the following:
* What backlash for feminist activists looks like across the globe and for grantees in our network.
* How activists can be supported in the face of threats and risks, particularly through a collective care approach.
* Urges key actors to protect activists from security risks in the first place.

Check out the new campaign ([link removed]) and share it widely with anyone you think might be interested.

In solidarity,
Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism
