August recess is here, and yesterday, we rolled out a brand-new campaign in collaboration with some of the largest powerhouse organizations in the wider progressive movement: Impeachment August.

More details in our launch email (we sent it yesterday) but in short, the Mueller report confirmed what we've always known: Trump abused his authority, violated the law, and tried repeatedly to obstruct justice. These are impeachable offenses. If Attorney General William Barr has proven anything, it's that he's a political operative whose priority is protecting Trump, not our democracy. It's up to Congress to do what Barr will not. And it’s up to us to make sure Congress does so.

Indivisibles are going all-out this month to push Congress for impeachment. That means toolkits, calls and in-person visits with our members while they’re home for the August Recess. All of that work takes resources, which is why we’re emailing you today:

Congress has the power to begin a formal impeachment inquiry, and we have the opportunity to force them to do it this August while they’re on their constituents’ home turf. Already, hundreds of in-district events are on the map. Thousands of Indivisibles agree that it’s time for impeachment. Nearly half of House Democrats support an impeachment inquiry. We are ready to make a huge impact.

These are the kind of bold, big campaigns we need to continue rolling out to defeat Trump and save democracy -- but we need the funding to do it. We depend on grassroots contributions from emails like this one to sustain this work. No political figures. No corporations. So we have to ask:

This is what allows Indivisible to stay, well… Indivisible. Massive, united, organizing everywhere at once, and never beholden to anyone who wants to attach strings to our work. We’ve done some math, and if just one out of every five people reading this email donated, we’d be well-funded for months to come and to take on the challenges ahead.
