Folks – this is an honest email about campaign resources and fundraising. I hope you’ll read it:
The most important fundraising deadline yet of the 2024 election cycle is coming up. It’s the first FEC filing deadline of the year, the first deadline since Trump became the presumptive GOP nominee for president, and the first deadline since the general election ballot in my own race was finalized.
Together, all of that means it’s critical for us to put up a strong showing when we file our next fundraising report .
In January, my anti-abortion MAGA opponent announced he’d raised more than half a million dollars in his effort to defeat me – and earlier this month, he solidified his place on the ballot for the general election. So it’s never been more important for us to boost our own efforts.
Between now and midnight on March 31st, I’m pushing to raise another $10,000 online to support this work.

(I’ve never liked to pretend the sky is falling, or like my dog wrote a fundraising email.) But the underlying reason you’re getting these requests is very real.
Fundraising deadlines matter, and public reporting of our numbers matters – all of it shapes the race in the lead-up to November. And the closer we get, the higher the stakes.
So here’s the deal: My team has made it clear that this $10,000 online fundraising goal is important, and that I need to do what I can to get us there. But I’ll be transparent with you about our progress, and once we get there, that’s it – I’m not going to keep emailing you at all hours leading up to the deadline just to get a few more dollars in the door.
