Hi team, I’m Nancy Goroff, running to represent New York's First District in Congress.

Before I ask you to consider chipping in $5, or whatever you’re able to, in time for our first FEC end-of-quarter report of 2024, [[link removed]]I thought it would only be right to tell you why I’m running:

Suffolk County is not just my home — it’s where I’ve built my life and made my mark. It’s where I’ve raised my two children and spent years teaching at Stony Brook University, where I proudly chaired the Chemistry Department.

From founding a nonprofit to strengthen local schools to collaborating with partners at Stony Brook to developing entrepreneurship programs to create good-paying jobs across Long Island — fighting for the folks in our community has always been the cornerstone of my work.

I’m not running to represent NY-01 as a typical politician. With a background in science and education, I’m running to bring a truly fresh perspective to the table to work for the community I love. I know how to look at the evidence to solve problems, and more importantly, I'm dedicated to addressing the pressing issues our community faces daily.

For too long, extremist politicians in Washington have prioritized partisan games over serving the people. My opponents, George Santos — who just announced he is running as an Independent in this race — and Nick LaLota, embody this broken system. They prioritize profits over people and seem content engaging in political stunts rather than being effective representation for New Yorkers. We need leaders who put the needs of New Yorkers first, not their own extreme agendas.

It's time to reject the status quo and elect leaders who will ACTUALLY serve our communities. I’ve never been one for empty promises. I'm all about real change. From healthcare accessibility to protecting our environment, I will work to help our communities thrive.
