John, Solitary confinement is a form of psychological torture that can cause lasting harm. Unfortunately, that hasn’t stopped Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from using the inhumane practice on an estimated 3,000 immigrant detainees each year. In fact, thousands of immigrant detainees are being isolated in small cells for 22 hours a day without any meaningful human interaction for days, weeks, and even months on end. |

Last year, Cori proudly introduced the End Solitary Confinement Act in an effort to stop this outdated and unjust practice. However, we need a wave of grassroots pressure to sway decision-makers like President Biden, who has allowed solitary confinement to continue despite campaign promises.
In fact, under President Biden, ICE’s use of solitary confinement hasn’t just continued – it's intensified…
It’s shameful.
Our ask is pretty simple: The U.S. government should uphold human rights and lead with compassion. Here at Team Cori, we are proudly pro-peace, we are proudly pro-humanity, and that is why we are proudly demanding an end to solitary confinement today.
