VIDEO OF THE DAY: Republicans pull insane stunt at US Supreme Court
Pillow mogul Mike Lindell and disgraced TV anchor turned deranged conspiracy theorist Kari Lake are teaming up to go to the Supreme Court in order to get voting machines banned. There are not enough facepalms, eye-rolls, or Geez, you gotta be kidding me!'s in the world that can properly do this preposterous story justice. Perhaps it'll be the start of the next great buddy comedy series. Let us know when "Kari & The Pillow Guy Go To Federal Prison For Treason" comes out!

The strange death of a Boeing whistleblower
The abrupt shooting death of Boeing whistleblower John Barnett right before the last day of his testimony against the airline giant — a day that Boeing's lawyers had insisted he stay for, as he had wanted to return home earlier — sparked a shockwave of grief, frustration, and conspiracy across the nation. "He was in very good spirits and really looking forward to putting this phase of his life behind him. We didn’t see any indication he would take his own life. We need more information … No one can believe it," said his lawyer after the fact. While the situation does appear extremely suspicious, once one steps back and looks at the big picture, we have a quintessentially American story on our hands, that of a man killing himself with a gun after being driven to PTSD and deep-suffering anxiety by years of harrassment and abuse by a giant multinational corporation. That corporation was retaliating against him for trying to blow the whistle on the deliberate neglect of critical safety standards and putting people's lives in serious danger all so the corporation could save money and reap bigger profits. Barnett's selfless crusade to do the right thing and alert the public to danger was smothered by a corporate machine intent on preserving its bottom line at the expense of the lives of literally hundreds of its customers.

House Republicans want to ban universal school lunches
Buried in the Republican Study Committee’s annual budget, entitled “Fiscal Sanity to Save America,” is a laundry list of some of the most outrageous and morally repulsive demands that one would think they were reading a child's comic book villain's demands and not the policy priorities of a major political party. Nestled among "abolish the National Labor Relations Board" and "subsidies for oil companies" is a plan to abolish the Community Eligibility Provision from the school lunch program, which would stop schools from providing lunch for every student regardless of their eligibility. They claim it's because there's "widespread fraud" in the program...that fraud, of course, being kids eating lunch even if their parents could afford to pay for it. According to the GOP, "kids eating lunch" is one of the biggest drains on public funding, and not, you know, the $7.8 trillion dollar hole they blew in the national debt during the Trump years with tax cuts for the wealthy.

AOC and Bernie Sanders team up to tackle climate change and the housing crisis in one bill
The pair of progressive champions set out to tackle two major crises facing the American people with the introduction of the Green New Deal for Public Housing, a sweeping piece of legislation that would decarbonize all of the nation’s public housing units—and build more of them—with an investment of between $162 billion and $234 billion over the next decade. "In doing so, it would avert 5.7 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions, the equivalent of removing 1.26 million cars from US roads each year, while creating jobs and public health benefits," writes Dharna Noor at Mother Jones. The proposal draws a striking contrast between the far-reaching, ambitious policy goals of the Democratic Party and the spiteful cruelty of Republicans, who just released a budget looking to literally take food out of the mouths of children, raise the retirement age, and restrict IVF treatment access.
