In their Ahead of Print article, Kara Zivin of the University of Michigan and coauthors examine nationwide trends in perinatal mood and anxiety disorder ([link removed] ) (PMAD) diagnoses among privately insured people between 2008–20.

They determine that during this period, diagnoses increased by 93.3 percent.

People in all age, race/ethnicity, and geographic categories experienced growth in PMAD diagnoses between the pre-ACA era and the post-ACA era, with the largest increase for Black people (55 percent).
