Trump uses coronavirus as excuse to stop enforcing key industrial pollution rules
John,
Instead of stepping up to do everything possible to protect our health and safety during the pandemic, Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency has indefinitely ceased enforcement of key industrial air and water pollution rules, citing the coronavirus pandemic as justification.
This sudden halt to enforcement of some of our nation’s most fundamental toxic pollution rules is the most egregious thing Trump’s EPA has done — and that’s really saying something.
It’s dangerous and inhumane to use a disease that specifically attacks our breathing to justify allowing even more air pollution. This action is further proof that Trump and his cronies in the administration are shamelessly exploiting every opportunity, no matter how absurd, to give handouts to corporations. Their greed endangers people's health and safety.
Food & Water Action is fighting back to stop this assault.
To use a public health crisis to justify actions that will result in even greater threats to public health is unconscionable, but not surprising from this administration. We’ve already seen how Trump and his billionaire friends are using this crisis to their own advantage.
Enough is enough. Food & Water Action will work with others to double down on our efforts to hold polluters accountable. Will you make an urgent donation right now?
