A recent study revealed that Pennsylvania’s existing cyber charter students fell behind on a full year of math, and 72 days of English language arts. That’s a staggering 180 DAYS of education lost for these students.
Benchmarks exist for a reason, friend. They’re how we measure our success — and how we identify when things just aren’t working.
But right now, my colleagues are trying to funnel even more of your taxpayer dollars into an online charter school program that is actively preventing our students from meeting key education benchmarks.
Our General Assembly is wasting — no exaggeration — one billion dollars trying to prop up their broken, corporate-run charter programs at the expense of our students’ education. That’s why I’m calling for an IMMEDIATE moratorium on new cyber charter schools — and I need you to help me win this fight for our students by rushing a donation of any amount before my end-of-quarter deadline next Sunday.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled our public school funding system was unconstitutional over a year ago, friend. And since then, my Republican colleagues have done nothing but further siphon funding away from our public schools, and into their corporate-run, private education programs.
