My biggest motivation in business since I was a teenager was wanting to have the time, money, and freedom to pursue ministry without asking for help. When I was young, my father was a pastor, and before he started his business we lived on the generosity of others and even lived in other people’s homes. From an early age I was determined to be successful so that I could always give and never have to ask for help.
I never dreamed that God would call me to a ministry of public service which requires me to practically beg for support, yet that is the humble state I found myself in. While I don’t like it asking for money, I know it’s healthy for a public servant to know that he didn’t get there by himself. When we win this race and I go to the Georgia Capitol, with God’s helpI will remember that I didn’t get there by myself.
I just keep telling myself that if my brothers can face thebullets in Afghanistan, I face the discomfort of fundraising and asking forvolunteers.
In addition to donations, we need volunteers to help makecalls (from anywhere), write notes, knock on doors, attend events, etc. Ifyou’re local, we are having a volunteer kick-off Sunday from 5-7pm in FloweryBranch. Please text 404-944-8989 if you can attend.
