We've worked closely with our gun safety allies in the White House to enact transformative executive orders. In Congress, we successfully passed the most significant reforms in decades. And in the court of public opinion, we've won broad support for an assault weapons ban, expanded background checks, and other life-saving reforms.

John, in March 2021, a gunman went on a hateful rampage throughout Atlanta, targeting Asian-Americans and killing eight people. Mere days later, another gunman in Boulder, CO, used an assault weapon to kill ten people at a grocery store.

It's been three years since these back-to-back shootings shocked our nation, leaving communities across the country grieving and struggling to move forward. But still, this cycle of violence remains unchanged.

Back-to-back mass shootings have become almost the norm. And mass shootings are on the rise: 2023 was the deadliest year for mass shootings in recent memory, and 2024 is on track to be just as bad.

In the last several months alone, we've seen mass shootings in Lewiston, ME, Perry, IA, and Kansas City, MO — to name just a few.

In 2024, there have already been more than 80 mass shootings. We're on track to average more than one mass shooting every single day. Even when these shootings don't make headlines, they still leave families and communities torn apart by violence, death, and trauma.

We know that change will only come when all of us join together. That's what it's going to take to defeat the gun lobby and finally pass the life-saving reforms that will end this epidemic of violence. So today, we're asking 20,000 activists like you to respond to our live poll before midnight to honor the victims of these shootings with action. Please, will you respond now?
