Greetings #TeamAlsobrooks,
Last week on the campaign trail was truly incredible. Thank you to
everyone who came out to support us from communities across Maryland. Our
grassroots movement is flourishing as more and more people join Team
Alsobrooks everyday!
In case you missed it, here’s what’s been happening for the past week on
the campaign trail and beyond:
This week, a new Washington Post and UMD poll showed that despite our
opponent’s record spending of $38 million, [ [link removed] ]the race remains tight.
While our opponent has been trying to buy up the airwaves for the last
year, our people-powered movement is showing that Marylanders are too
smart for candidates that buy elections.
Take a look at our new ad! Angela has spent her career working hard to
keep her community safe, and we’re taking that spirit to the Senate!

Great to be back in Baltimore with our friend Senator Antonio Hayes to
speak with folks about our race. As we’ve traveled across that State, it's
been clear that we all want the same things: well-paying jobs, affordable
health care, and good schools to send our kids to. By working together we
can accomplish all this and more to put our state on the right track.
Thanks to Lisa and Chris Summers for organizing a lovely group.

We had a fantastic time at the Baltimore City Central Committee candidates
forum. For too long, some communities have been left behind and written
off — but we’ll fight for every single Marylander in the Senate. Together,
we can build a bright future for all of us right here in Maryland.

Thanks to Apostle Antonio Palmer and First Lady Barbara Palmer for
inviting us worship at Kingdom Celebration Center Church in Gambrills,
Sunday morning. This morning's sermon had the entire church on their feet,
and it truly warmed our hearts to join in praise and worship with so many
from the community. Great to see Delegate Shaneka Henson!

We had a fabulous time at the Tri-Chapter Links Black Family Wellness Expo
hosted by the Prince George's County, Mount Rose, and Willow Oak Chapters
of The Links, Incorporated! They do incredible work in our community by
providing crucial resources to families.

We had a blast in Fulton, spreading the word about my campaign for the
U.S. Senate. It was so great to be with friend Mike Buch, who brought
together a fantastic group of folks to hear about my mission to go farther
and do better for the state of Maryland.

We are so grateful to Jessica Strauss and Andre Davis for gathering a
fantastic group together in Baltimore for a robust conversation about how
we move Maryland forward. It’s always such a pleasure hearing from folks
about how we can make our state work for every single resident. Great to
see our friend Congressman Sarbanes!

[ [link removed] ]WBAL: 'This race is far from over': Political science professor weighs
in on status of US Senate Race
"I think in the Democratic race, given how much David Trone has already
spent on this race, to only be polling at 34%, and only what I would call
a slight lead over Alsobrooks given the number of undecideds, this race is
far from over," said Todd Eberly, a political science professor at St.
Mary's College of Maryland. "Alsobrooks can close that gap."

Alsobrooks, on the other hand, has come up through the state ranks and is
well known in her county. But she has faced an uphill battle against
Trone’s ad blitz. Her campaign’s first ad of the election draws a contrast
with Trone by portraying her as a working mother versus the average U.S.
senator, who is “64 years old” and “worth $16 million.”

Senate Democratic candidate forum
“Democrat Angela Alsobrooks made a concerted play for voters at a
candidates’ forum in Baltimore… Alsobrooks, the Prince George’s County
executive, stressed her ties to the city — she attended the University of
Maryland School of Law — and criticized former Republican Gov. Larry Hogan
for scrapping the Red Line, a planned Baltimore transit project, in 2015.”
