We are overwhelmed by the thoughts, prayers, comments and concerns that have flooded our inbox today. What's remarkable about Cori is that even while battling pneumonia she’s only thinking of others. Her heart goes out to those experiencing far worse without such a strong network of support, and there are too many out there who don’t have the support they need.
My heart melted when I spoke with her earlier and she told me, “My sickness is temporary. But our struggles are not. The work can’t stop.” Cori is a fighter; she is the strongest person I know. Like every other challenge in her life, she will overcome it with fortitude and grace. More than anything, she wants our campaign to carry on full steam ahead toward our goals so we’re ready for her once she’s recovered. That’s why #TeamCori will always have her back.
Campaigns like ours are gaining traction as the “new normal” in progressive politics—that means we’re winning. But our race and our priorities have always been urgent for the people in our district and beyond.
We must organize like our lives depend on it, because they do. We’re just getting started.
We have less than 48 hours to report our fundraising numbers for this quarter. The money we raise will go directly to empowering all the residents of St. Louis to participate in our democracy, THEIR democracy.
We want to see our movement come out in full force so that we can beat this virus, win this race, and build a lasting legacy. Will you stand with us?
Thank you for your support,
Issy
