![]() Happy Women’s History Month! My name is Katherine Clark, and I proudly serve Massachusetts’ 5th district in Congress. I am also in House leadership serving as the Democratic Whip. It wasn’t too long ago when there were hardly any women serving in Congress at all. When I first came to Congress in 2013, I was stopped and mistaken for someone’s spouse (multiple times), making it difficult to even get into the Chamber to cast a vote. Fast forward to today, and thankfully, things have improved. There are more women serving in Congress than ever before — 94 women in the House Democratic Caucus alone! I’ve been adamant about bringing more women into Congress because the truth is that for generations, we’ve failed to address the persistent challenges faced by women, especially by women of color. And with MAGA extremists threatening to take our country backward, we need to keep our momentum growing and expand our ranks in the halls of Congress.
Effective leadership isn’t about individual ambition. It’s about our collective good. Lifting up others is one of my core values — I strongly believe that when we elect more women to positions of power, we all do better. Together, we can continue the fight for gender equity, women’s rights, and with your support, elect even more candidates who are committed to building the kind of country and future that our daughters deserve. Thank you for your support! I hope you take some time this month to reflect on our achievements, celebrate the women in your life, and recommit to building a stronger, more inclusive America. All my best, — Katherine Representative Katherine Clark |
