Fourteen years ago, President Barack Obama and then-Vice-President Joe Biden enacted the Affordable Care Act, a groundbreaking piece of legislation that has helped tens of millions of Americans access healthcare.

Through Republican attacks over the years and Donald Trump's attempts to destroy it, the ACA has held and stood as a symbol of progress.

Although I was not in the Senate when the ACA was passed, I’ve been proud to work over the years to protect it and make further advancements so that every American can have affordable and accessible healthcare.

No one should have to choose between healthcare and other essential items. We need to do more to strengthen the ACA and ensure that even more Americans have the care they need at affordable prices.
