It was an eventful week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting for our conservative values.
Yesterday, the House and Senate passed a minibus bill to complete funding for the 2024 fiscal year. I was extremely disappointed in the rushed measures that were taken to pass this bill through the House. I voted “no” on this resolution because passing a 1,000-page, $1.2 trillion spending package in less than 72 hours is nothing short of reckless. Not to mention the numerous wasteful Democrat pet projects that were included in the bill, which even went so far as to earmark $2.2 million for abortion facilities.
I joined my Republican colleagues in a letter urging the Biden administration to engage in Brazil's public-comment period on tariffs for U.S. ethanol imports. The current tariff imbalance and non-tariff barriers put American ethanol, farmers, and rural communities like ours at a severe disadvantage. Fair trade practices are crucial for our rural communities' economic well-being. As a fierce advocate for our farmers and producers, I want to ensure they have a level playing field and can access important export markets without facing undue challenges.
To end our recap on a strong note, this week I was honored to receive President Donald J. Trump’s endorsement of my reelection campaign to continue serving Minnesota’s Seventh District! I look forward to helping President Trump carry out his America First agenda and expand our Republican majority in the House. The people of Minnesota are ready to retire Joe Biden, finish the southern border wall, fight bureaucratic injustices, return to energy independence, expand the economy to benefit ALL citizens and reclaim U.S. respect on the world stage.
