Republican House majority on brink as another GOPer says he's leaving
Wisconsin's Mike Gallagher is following Colorado's Ken Buck out the door — and leaving perpetually beleaguered House Speaker Mike Johnson in a really tough spot. Gallagher’s departure will leave House Republicans with 217 seats in the chamber, compared to Democrats’ 213. The remarkably ineffectual GOP has already struggled to pass any legislation, and Gallagher’s resignation will make the job they clearly cannot handle that much more difficult. Couldn't happen to a more deserving caucus full of clowns.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: RFK Jr. has nightmare interview on national TV
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has spent years stoking irrational fear and mistrust in vaccines. It's only now that he's trying to position himself as a credible candidate for president that's he's trying to have it both ways — to appeal to a base drawn to his skepticism of science, and to broaden his appeal to include people who, you know, believe in science, but might be turned off by another Biden vs. Trump match up. CNN's Kasie Hunt was having none of it.

Trump’s social media company approved to go public, potentially netting disgraced ex-president billions
The serially indicted fraudster is returning to the stock market, and the cult leader stands to reap a sizeable payout in the process. Trump Media & Technology Group, whose flagship product is the clunky, right-wing cesspool known as Truth Social, will soon begin trading on the Nasdaq stock market. Trump apparently controls 79 million shares and, if prices hold, could stand to see his stake in the company surpass $3 billion. We know a certain attorney general who will be keen to lay eyes on approximately $454 million of that sum, should it ever actually materialize.

Freedom Caucus kicks out Rep. Ken Buck days before his retirement
The radical, right-wing Republican House goon squad took time out of their busy day not doing the people's business to tackle something truly important — landing petty pot shots at a retiring member of Congress days before he leaves office. Colorado Rep. Ken Buck announced in November that he wouldn't run for another term in Congress, and then earlier this month, he surprised his colleagues by saying he would leave this week instead of finishing his term. That news apparently didn't go over well with the Freedom Caucus clowns; the group voted to formally expel him on Friday. Buck's expulsion has no practical effect on his final votes in Congress or his retirement; it’s just a petty indignity on his way out the door. Petty indignity — it's what Republicans do best!

Israel's Netanyahu says he told US Sec. of State Blinken he will invade Rafah with or without the support of the United States
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that Israel remained determined to send troops into the southern Gaza city of Rafah, where more than one million Palestinians are sheltering, and would do so without US backing if necessary. Netanyahu said in a statement he had told visiting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that there was no way to defeat the Islamist movement Hamas without going into Rafah. "And I told him that I hope we will do it with the support of the US, but if we have to — we will do it alone," he said. Israel's bombardment of the Gaza Strip has resulted in more than 32,000 Palestinians killed, including nearly 13,000 children.
