Hi John,

Do you know who fears our movement? The big businesses and billionaires who are rapidly increasing inequality across the world. The giant corporations using existing trade rules to sue countries for billions every year. The fossil fuel CEOs watching their profits grow as the world burns.

And do you know who stands with us? People who see the importance of challenging those in power. People who believe that giant profit-driven corporations have too much power in our world. People who want to see the fossil fuel industry phased out as rapidly as required.

Global Justice Now refuses funding from anyone who might force us to water down our campaigns. Because to fight effectively for equality and justice, it’s vital we remain fearless, outspoken and unafraid to take on the issues that really matter. And we can’t do that without being independent.

That’s why we rely on the donations of generous and passionate individuals like you to hold the rich and powerful to account. By signing up for a membership of just £3 per month, you can help us fight against corporate power and make a difference in the lives of people around the world.

We believe that governments should make rules that serve people and the planet. But the current rules of the global economy make that hard. That’s why we push for the transformation of international trade and the wider economic system.

Our activists, members and staff have been fighting for years for the UK to ditch the climate-wrecking Energy Charter Treaty (ECT), which hands big corporations the power to sue governments for tackling the climate crisis. And we succeeded! Last month the UK government announced that it is leaving behind this shadowy legal framework. This is a huge breakthrough in our campaign – and it couldn’t have happened without the financial support of people who joined our movement.

The UK's departure helps undermine the entire framework of this treaty, and will send shockwaves through the system of corporate courts. Riding this wave of momentum, we're on a mission to eradicate corporate courts from all trade deals.

We've also launched a new campaign urging all party leaders to get on board with a global plan to kick fossil fuels to the curb. Because despite all the talk of transitioning away from fossil fuels at the UN's climate conferences, the truth is, the existing international processes are dragging their feet. They're shackled to powerful corporations, failing to bring about the rapid change we desperately need.

It's us against the heavyweights and a system rigged in their favour. But we're not backing down. To keep pushing forward, we need as many people on board as possible. Join us as a member and be part of a community dedicated to making real, positive change happen.
