Lessons from the Prophet (PBUH)
Salaam Alaikum and Ramadan Mubarak!
I hope this email finds you well. As a member of the MPV community, I wanted to take a moment to share why the work of
Muslims for Progressive Values (MPV) holds such significance for me.
MPV's commitment to advocating for human rights, social justice, and inclusion resonates deeply with my own values. Being
part of the oldest progressive Muslim organization in the US has been a source of pride for me, knowing that we are
contributing to positive change both domestically and globally.
One of MPV's principles that particularly inspires me is our vision of creating a world that reflects Islam as a source of
dignity, justice, compassion, and love for all. This vision guides our global programs such as #ImamsForShe and the Alliance
of Inclusive Muslims, as well as our domestic initiatives like Marriage Services and Inclusive Islam Curriculums.
As the Prophet (PBUH) teaches us, "None of you truly believes until you wish for your brother what you wish for yourself" (40
Hadith of an-Nawawi). This ethos of empathy and solidarity underscores our advocacy efforts, whether it's advocating for the
Equal Rights Amendment domestically or fighting against child marriages and FGM internationally.
Furthermore, the Hadith teaches us, "The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity" (Tirmidhi). This
underscores the importance of giving zakat and the blessings earned from using our resources to help others.
I’m thrilled to share an electrifying initiative that embodies our commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering
understanding through the dynamic world of arts. Enter the stage: The Muslim Musical Mosaic Project ( [link removed] )! This groundbreaking endeavor will explore our collective music history and illustrate with a performance original pieces
depicting a vision of a contemporary American Muslim musical culture.
We believe in the power of art as a tool for advocacy and social change. The Muslim Musical Mosaic Project ( [link removed] ) is an opportunity to amplify diverse perspectives, engage in meaningful dialogue, and challenge stereotypes through music,
songs, spoken word, rap, jazz, and dance.
Your support for this project will ignite the stage with diverse perspectives, captivating dialogue, and the power to
challenge stereotypes through the magic of art. Your contribution, regardless of size, will set the rhythm for empowering
Muslim voices and creating an inclusive symphony of unity and understanding. Join us in making waves ( [link removed] ) with the Muslim Musical Mosaic
Project!
Make A Contribution Today! ( [link removed] )
For those who have already donated to make the Mosaic Project a reality, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to you for
your support and your commitment to empowering Muslim voices in America.
Warm regards,
